I used to make my grandmother's chocolate chip cookies that I grew up eating all my life but after trying these I have found a new favorite! (Sorry Nani)! These are my new go to cookies that get eaten up so fast I have to make them often and store extra in the freezer. They are so easy to make and come out perfect every time! They are the perfect combination of crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. If you're looking for a new crowd pleaser you have to try these! Carla Hall's Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie This recipe was originally posted on the ABC website from Chef and TV Host, Carla Hall. www.carlahall.com. 3 cups of all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 sticks unsalted butter (1 stick room temperature, 1 stick melted over the stovetop) 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup light brown sugar 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract 2 large eggs 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup milk chocolate chips 1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. 3. For the melted butter, in a small pot over medium heat, melt 1 stick of butter, swirling pan until lightly browned with a nutty aroma. About 5 minutes. Set aside. 4. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, add one stick room temperature butter, granulated sugar, light and dark brown sugars, beat on medium speed. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla, beat until combined. 5. Slowly stir in the melted butter until mixed. 6. Add the flour mixture until completely combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. 7. Scoop cookie dough onto parchment lined baking sheet, chill for 1 hour in the refrigerator. 8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. 9. Scoop and drop 1/2 teaspoon size cookie dough balls 2 inches apart on the lined baking sheets. Bake in the oven 8-10 minutes until golden around the edges and soft in the middle. 10. The pictures are beautiful and the book is filled with well balanced, healthy meals that are easy to follow. The authors Tracy, Dana, Lori and Corky Pollan believe that what we eat affects our overall health and how we can improve our health is by eating more plant based meals. This is not a book for vegetarians, in fact there are many recipies with meat and seafood. The flexitarian diet teaches you how to balance your meals better for optimal health using mostly plant based ingredients and focusing on flavor. The meals can also be adapted for most dietary needs such as gluten free, dairy free and vegan. This amazing book has so many options for just about any lifestyle and they're all good for you!
